It’s Easy to Get Involved at Cal
PTSA (Parent-Teacher-Student Association)
Cal’s PTSA is an active force on Cal’s campus. From spearheading fundraising drives to organizing the annual eighth grade field trip to Six Flags Marine World, Cal’s activist parents make a difference for the students. The PTSA also sponsors Cal’s Career Day, when the community reaches out to show Cal students the route to the professional world. PTSA meetings are held in the Library/ Media Center. If you want to get involved, check our calendar for the next PTSA meeting.
School Site Council
If one really wants to get involved, the School Site Council is involved in every aspect of the school from writing the Site Plan to awarding site grants to eager teachers. The Site Council has two parent positions that vote on proposals and help steer the school in the right direction.
Chaperones
In the interest of safety, the SCUSD has adopted a background check for all school volunteers and field trip chaperones. The form is five pages long and requires two references, but the school will pay the processing fee. Cal needs you! Please contact Mrs. Wasser at 916-264-4550.
