Cal Middle School provides seventh grade students with one semester of health. The class is taught by Mr. Craviotto. He possesses a Health Credential, meeting the requirements stated in the California State Framework. Health class adheres to the middle level state health standards. The overlying theme, as outlined in the state framework, is the acceptance of personal responsibility for health.
The students at CAL Middle School are indebted to the present and past administrations for their commitment to providing health for our students.
This semester we have our “big sister” Dawn Dunlap, Nutrition Educator, from the district, presenting a nutrition program in all of Mr. Craviotto’s classes. This program runs one day per week for six weeks.
Another program presented by Mr. Lampkin and Ms. Singh, is being provided to health/science students. This program is titled “Youth Development”. It runs one day per week for ten weeks. Many decision making themes are presented in these sessions. This is an abstinence-prevention unit. This program is in its eighth year at CAL.
