Clubs and Programs
Cal offers clubs and programs for every student! Does your child want to learn about his or her culture? Does your child want to act, debate, write poetry, or build solar-powered cars? We have something for every student. From cultural clubs that provide support for minority students and raise awareness to clubs centered on activities like debate and drama, Cal’s clubs provide forums for learning about one self and the world at large.
Of course, sometimes it’s necessary to bring in some outside help. That’s where Cal’s Passage program comes in. It sponsor field trips, provides free tutoring, and offers various activities for Cal students. PASSage has offered classes on soap making, hip-hop dance, and art recently, as well as participating in the Pan African club’s production of Celebrating Our Greatness.
In addition, Ms. Watkins’ science class is going to the Yosemite Institute this December, and Mr. Holt’s eighth grade GATE and traditional classes will make their annual pilgrimage to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival as a part of their drama unit. The Pan-African Club plans to journey to the Museum of the African Diaspora as well for Black History Month.
