Cheerleaders/ Spirit Squad

Cal’s cheerleading program was reconstituted in 2004 by Ms. Anderson-Holt. The squad has grown over the years in both talent and numbers.  In recent years, Cal’s cheerleaders have performed at district events at Crocker Riverside Elementary, attended the UCA Cheer Camp at UC Davis, and been a staple at California Middle School basketball games.

The girls learn teamwork and dance moves, cheers and stunts as they become capable of pumping up a crowd. There are few things that require more trust than going up into an elevator and falling back into a cradle.  Cheerleading is a place where girls from many backgrounds learn the joy of performing together and the possibilities offered by positivity.
