Mr. Arturo Apodaca

Hometown: Mr. Apodaca was raised by his mother in Southern California who worked six days a week and stressed the value of education.
Current Subjects Taught: History and AVID
Education: He was awarded a full academic scholorship to UC Santa Barbara where he was a Regent’s Scholar winner. Mr. Apodaca finished his B.A. at UC Davis with majoring in Sociology and minoring in Chicano Studies.
Hobbies: He is a fan of nature and lowriders.
Misc: Arturo has been with his lovely wife Dora for 14 years.
He has taught at CAL for seven years, presently teaching both History and AVID while coaching softball and basketball. In addition to all he already does for the school, Arturo coordinates a yearly staff-student basketball tournament.
He enjoys producing a yearly student talent show and taking the students on various field trips.
As Mr. Apodaca says, “My biggest joy is spending time with my students!”
