Cal’s Speech & Debate team is ROLLING! At the December 12,
2012 tournament at Sutter Middle School, California Middle took
the much coveted Sweepstakes Trophy! The Sweepstakes Trophy is a
true team accomplishment, and is awarded to the team with the
HIGHEST PERCENTAGE OF WINS OVERALL. Incredible job, Cal S&D!!

Every year at this time, much of our focus is on STAR
testing. It’s important that students are fully-prepared to
“show what they know,” so our teachers are helping them review
key concepts and test-taking strategies. Testing begins
April 29th.
I want to switch gears, however, and share some of the exciting
news that truly defines what makes Cal the best middle school in
the district.This past week, our boys and girls soccer teams
played the Sutter A teams. The boys won, and the girls
tied, which is a new achievement for Cal sports. We are so
proud of our athletes! …
